We’re excited to share some wonderful news with you! The Weston Hotel has made its television debut on Channel 4’s brand-new series, Yorkshire By The Sea.
Last summer, we received an incredible opportunity that we simply couldn’t pass up. Channel 4 approached us with the idea of featuring The Weston Hotel in their new series. At the time, we had only owned the hotel for two months and were still finding our feet. We were in the midst of launching our restaurant, transforming The Weston from a charming bed and breakfast into a full-service hotel experience. Despite the challenges, we were thrilled to share our journey with a wider audience.
The second episode of Yorkshire By The Sea – which you can watch here – captures an especially memorable time for us. It follows our busiest weekend since taking ownership of the hotel, coinciding with Scarborough’s Armed Forces Day and several big-name performances at the Open Air Theatre. With these major events happening, the hotel was bustling with activity, and we had significant turnarounds each day, requiring us to be more hands-on than ever before.
What made the experience even more nerve-wracking was knowing that every moment was being captured on camera. While we were nervous about being in the spotlight (and can confidently say we are not naturals in front of the camera!), the talented crew did an incredible job of capturing the essence of what makes The Weston so special. Our family-owned and family-run hotel is more than just a place to stay; it’s a labour of love, filled with warmth, hospitality, and a genuine commitment to making every guest feel at home.
After keeping this exciting project under wraps for over a year, we’re thrilled to finally share our story with you on Yorkshire By The Sea. The show beautifully celebrates the unique stories, businesses, and communities along the breathtaking Yorkshire coast, and we are incredibly honoured to be a part of it. Our episode is a testament to the hard work and dedication that has gone into making The Weston Hotel what it is today.
